Scrapbooking is one hobby that is growing rapidly in popularity. In addition to all of the other memorable events that creating a family scrapbook can capture, it can also be a great way to keep remembering your Halloween.

So many memories to remember

There are lots exciting events that occur in October leading up to Halloween. Always have your camera ready so that you can record every moment.

For starters, there is the selecting the costume. Most likely, your child will want to try on three or four or more before deciding on the perfect one. You won’t want to forget the trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out that perfect jack-o-lantern pumpkin, as well as, capturing some memories of raking the yard, hanging some Halloween decorations, or baking Halloween treats.

Getting your supplies together

In order to create a scrapbook, you will first of all need a scrapbook. Almost all of the craft stores will offer a large variety of sizes and styles to choose from. While you are in the store, you can also search for some different colored papers, stickers, and other assortments of embellishments that you can add to your scrapbook pages. Some other supplies you might need are stencils, scissors, or glue so make sure to pick those up as well.

Memories to include in your scrapbook

Your choices of what to include in you Halloween scrapbook is up to you. You can also have your child participate by selecting photos or other memories to include. If you are indecisive as to what to include, here are a few ideas that can help you get started:

Why not take a walk and pick up some colorful leaves that are falling from the trees in October. Also, Halloween cards or invitations – you can either use the entire card so that you can still read the messages, or simply cut off the picture part from the front to use as a decoration.

If your child has created any Halloween artwork that is a welcomed addition to your Halloween scrapbook. If what you are trying to add is too bulky or large to fit in the scrapbook, you can take some pictures of the item to include instead. Why not also include any crafts that were made either at school or parties or maybe some you and your child made at home.

Consider having your child prepare some top ten lists of the current favorites this year – favorite costumes, candy, TV shows, etc.

Some goodies from any parties that you attended are also fun to incorporate. Things like the gift bag, name tag, or invitation are always nice to include. You should also take some pictures of your child’s costume and the events going on. Pictures, pictures, and more pictures! A good picture will capture more of the feel than any description you could ever write. You can also let your child have a camera and allow him or her to take some shots as well.

Any items, other decorations, mementos, or other things that will help spark memories when you look at the scrapbook later on is what you are aiming for.

Halloween scrapbooks are a perfect way to save wonderful memories for later on. So if you want to relive that perfect Halloween costume or every moment from your child’s first Halloween party, start creating your own Halloween scrapbook this year.
